Engine Room

If you have ever found yourself laying on an aft quarterbearth, reaching over backwards with an oil filter wrench in your hand while half standing on your head, you will understand why Millie J was designed with a true engine room.  It is still a 35 foot boat with all its space constraints, but you can actually get into the engine room and move around to work on things.  The engine can be accessed from behind, or by removing the companionway steps, from the front.

Besides the engine, the engineroom houses the following components:
            Isolation transformer
            GFCI breaker
            Dual Racor pre-filters
            Cabin heater fuel pump
            Discharge water manifold and thru-hull
Engine cooling water muffler and thru-hull
            2 – 32 gallon fuel tanks
            1 – 30 gallon blackwater tank
            Blackwater tank overboard pump
            Freshwater heater
            Solar panel regulator
            Balmar Duo-Charge regulator
            SSB automatic antenna tuner
            Refrigeration system
            Engineroom automatic fire extinguisher

The area also provides storage for the following items:

Try to get all of this into a conventional 35 foot boats engine space.
